Threat of Mould and Bacteria
One of the biggest threats to food and drink manufacturers, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and operators in the leisure industry is the growth of mould and bacteria. Highly publicised outbreaks of bacteria such as E.coli all too effectively demonstrate the need for the strictest hygiene standards and compliance with rigorously enforced hygiene legislation. Flexcrete’s high performance Biodex hygiene coatings ensure that internal walls and ceilings deploy the very best line of defence against unwanted micro-organisms.
Complete Biostatic, Seamless Protection
Flexcrete’s water-based, resin-rich Biodex anti-bacterial coatings provide a totally seamless, easy clean finish on internal walls and ceilings. Unlike sheets, boards, ceramic tiles and other traditional systems, our coatings leave no joints or fixings in which bacteria can thrive. Formulated using state-of-the-art encapsulated biocide technology, these coatings incorporate the latest generation silver ion additives to combat germs. Furthermore, the active in-film protection allows for the ultra-slow controlled release of active ingredients into the film throughout the long life span of the coatings. They are proven to prevent the growth of a wide range of mould, fungus, bacteria and healthcare-associated infections – including E.coli, Aspergillus, Penicillium Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) – whilst remaining non-leaching and non-toxic, so are totally safe to use in hygienic environments.
Anti-Bacterial Coatings
Our Biodex coatings are elastomeric and vapour permeable and don’t crack or flake even when subjected to condensation, steam cleaning, substrate movement or extreme temperature changes. Biodex is available in a range of technical specifications, decorative colours and finishes, including matt and sheen. Due to their long life span, Biodex hygiene coatings dramatically reduce the expense and inconvenience associated with repetitive maintenance.
