North West Export Champion

We are delighted to confirm that we have, for the second year running, been declared a North West Export Champion by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

Flexcrete was one of a select number of companies across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cheshire named as an Export Champion for 2014 by UKTI as part of the organisation’s programme to create 1,000 new exporters for the region.

The role of Export Champions is to offer peer to peer support in relation to the range of individually tailored professional services available from the UKTI team, as well as promoting exports generally. Flexcrete has a thriving export business with international agents and distributors in 65 countries worldwide and export sales accounting for over 50% of our business.

Top exporting countries for Flexcrete in the last 12 months include Belgium, Norway and Finland, followed by China and Iraq. We have recently recorded exports to countries including Brazil, Kuwait, New Zealand, Panama, Slovenia, South Africa and Trinidad. Our high performance repair mortars and specialist coatings are often used on high profile projects on a global basis, for instance one of our cementitious coatings has recently been used for the prestigious Gorgon Project at Barrow Island, off the coast of Western Australia. At the time, it was one of the world’s largest construction projects.

Graham James OBE, Director of Flexcrete Technologies said: “We are proud to continue our work with the UKTI to promote the benefits of exporting and look forward to helping other North West companies enjoy global success.”

UKTI Regional Director Clive Drinkwater said: “Export Champions are all businesses who will inspire and motivate those new to international trade, both by promoting the benefits of export via their own successes and by sharing knowledge and experience.

“As diverse as these companies are, they all have one thing in common – their positive attitude and pro-active approach to seeking new export orders which make them inspirational ‘Export Champions’ who will become a beacon to inspire non-exporters to get started and to encourage new exporters to do more,” he continued.
