Flexcrete eco friendly manufacturing plant

The exporting credentials of Flexcrete have been recognised as the firm has been specially selected to have a presence at The International Festival for Business 2016 (IFB2016), said to be the world’s top business event this year.

IFB2016 is being taking place at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool from Monday 13th June until 1st July with three themed weeks of events. Week one is focused on Manufacturing, week two on Energy and Environment and week three on Creative and Digital. It is anticipated that there will be more than 30,000 delegates from the UK and across the globe, including 10,000 international delegates and 100 trade delegations from Europe, Middle East, China, South East Asia, India, North America and Latin America.

Chancellor George Osborne is officially opening the festival today and world leaders and former heads of state have travelled to Liverpool to attend the inaugural Horasis Global Meeting, which is being held in the city as part of the three week festival. Speakers at the Horasis Global Meeting include former South African president and Nobel Peace Laureate FW de Klerk, and the director general of UNESCO, Irena Bokova.

For the past four years, Flexcrete has been hailed as one of the North West’s leading exporters by being awarded the prestigious title of Export Champion by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI). The company, which is the UK’s leading independent manufacturer of technical mortars and high performance coatings for the construction industry and other sectors, was invited by UKTI to exhibit during the Manufacturing and Energy and Environment themed weeks.

International Festival of Business

The company has a 30-year track record of exporting, with international agents and distributors in 65 countries worldwide and export sales accounting for some 50% of its revenues. Last year, Director of Flexcrete Technologies Limited Graham James OBE was present on a VIP trip to Singapore and Malaysia alongside Prime Minister David Cameron and some of the UK’s most high profile Ministers.

The Export Champions programme is unique to the North West, and involves recruiting successful international firms to help new companies on their export journey, offering peer to peer support in addition to the wide range of individually tailored professional services available from the UKTI team.

Flexcrete’s range of products includes engineering quality mortars, fairing coats, waterproof cementitious coatings and decorative protective coatings, including liquid roof coatings and hygiene coatings for use in hygiene sensitive environments such as healthcare and food manufacturing. Flexcrete Technologies produces all of the company’s water-based coating systems from its manufacturing complex in Leyland, Lancashire; the company’s products are used for refurbishment and new build projects and offer significant environmental and user friendly advantages over solvent-based products, in that they release no strong odour or hazardous solvents and cause absolutely no disruption during application.

IFB2016 follows the inaugural International Festival for Business, which took place in 2014 and resulted in £280 million of trade and investment deals being done and many more deals and commercial relationships still in the pipeline. IFB2016 is being delivered by Liverpool Vision in partnership with UK Trade & Investment, the government department that helps UK-based companies export and international companies establish and expand in the UK.
