Waterproof Lining of Exercise Pool at Godolphin Stables

Waterproof Lining of Equine Exercise Pool.

Background

Moulton Paddocks is the original Godolphin stable in Newmarket and European summer base for the thoroughbred horses owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Widely regarded as the world’s finest equestrian estate, the facilities have recently undergone major expansion comprising of an equine swimming pool and hydrotherapy rooms to ensure the racehorses, which arrive each April from the Al Quoz stud in Dubai, are trained to achieve peak fitness.

The Solution

Monolevel 844SP was chosen to provide an effective and durable waterproof seal to the equine pool. Applied as a thin section render, Monolevel 844SP is a Portland cement based formulation which is applied without a primer to saturated concrete. It is fully approved for use in direct contact with drinking water, providing complete assurance that the quality of the water will not be adversely affected. Monolevel 844SP is CE marked in compliance with EN 1504-3 and after 28 days achieves a compressive strength of circa 60N/mm².
