Strengthening Our Team

At Flexcrete, we are firmly committed to the industry’s most robust Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems and in recognition of this, we have recently welcomed Duncan Lewis to the position of Operations Officer – SHE and Process Improvement. With a wealth of experience in manufacturing, Duncan is NEBOSH certified (Occupational Safety and Health) and is working to further enhance standards and develop more efficient ways of working.

Duncan joins the Flexcrete team not long after we have received confirmation that we have been successfully accredited to both IS0 14001 and OHSAS 18001 from the BSI (British Standards Institution). ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses and by gaining this certification, we have successfully demonstrated that we are minimising negative impact on the environment by reducing waste, energy and water use, alongside a host of other initiatives.

OHSAS 18001 is widely perceived as the world’s most recognised Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems standard. By having a clearly defined management system in place to identify and control Health and Safety risks, we are developing a safer working environment for our employees and visitors to our head office and manufacturing facility in Leyland, Lancashire.

Flexcrete team member Zoe Wu has also been promoted to the position of Product Manager – Regulatory Affairs. Zoe, who gained a PhD in Material Science at Imperial College London, has been the driving force in achieving our certification to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, and she is also completing her NEBOSH qualifications. All Flexcrete products are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 and we were the first British manufacturer to achieve CE Mark registration in compliance with EN1504, the pan European standard for concrete repair.
