We’re delighted to confirm that Flexcrete Technologies Limited is hailed as one of the North West’s leading Export Champions by the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). This is the third year running that our company has been awarded the prestigious title of Export Champion.

We enjoy a thriving export business with international agents and distributors in 65 countries worldwide and export sales account for some 50% of our revenue.

UKTI North West announced its 2015 Export Champions during Export Week, whereby the North West International Trade Team ran a series of events aimed at helping companies across the UK to make the most of their overseas potential. Now in its third year, the Export Champions programme is unique to the North West, and involves recruiting successful international firms to help new companies on their export journey, offering peer to peer support in addition to the wide range of individually tailored professional services available from the UKTI team.

Graham James OBE, Director of FlexcrNorth West Export Championete Technologies Limited said: “We are delighted to be declared Export Champion once again. Our export business is very strong and we have recently delivered products to markets as diverse as Ghana and Australia. Another recent order has involved the supply of 35 tonnes of an innovative coating system for the petrochemical industry in Azerbaijan, which is a new export market for us.

“We have been trading in export markets for some 30 years now and we firmly believe that our business is in good shape because we have invested in new product development, not just with the UK but global markets in mind. For instance, we’ve just launched an innovative new coating called Monodex Clear which was primarily developed to serve our export markets, but it also fulfils a demand in the UK as well, so it’s a win-win situation,” Graham continued.

Monodex Clear is a transparent, water-based, anti-carbonation coating which allows the original appearance of concrete buildings to be retained, whilst providing an excellent defence against carbon dioxide ingress and the effects of general weathering. It allows building owners to significantly prolong the maintenance free life of their building stock, and tests have proven that Monodex Clear totally outperforms many other products on the market in terms of providing effective anti-carbonation protection.

Flexcrete has always pioneered the use of waterborne technology to develop its products and that philosophy remains the mainstay of the company today, allowing us to effectively contribute to sustainability in the built environment.

Graham continued: “Our aim is to build on our existing environmental and sustainability credentials by taking the coatings industry forward with safe, water-based high performance alternatives to traditional coating systems. Our materials offer significant environmental and user friendly advantages over solvent-based products, in that they release no strong odour or hazardous solvents during application and cause absolutely no disruption during application.”

Over the years, Flexcrete products have been specified for use on some of the world’s most iconic buildings and structures, including Hong Kong International Airport, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Channel Tunnel, The Shard and many more. Our hygiene coatings are currently being applied in a major refurbishment of the Chu-Nan Brewery for Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation.
